The X-Priv 225W Kit features a high-definition 2.0" body screen, and is equipped with an updated user interface to provide stellar operational control.

Powered by two 18650 batteries (sold separately) and capable of achieving a 225W maximum power output. The advanced Smok chipset features various control mode operations, including Temperature Control Mode, VW Mode, and Memory mode.

Lateral fire key and up/down buttons are subtle but large enough for completing various controls. Newly upgraded interface allows for color screen customization and displays detailed vaping information, like puff counter monitoring, voltage output, and battery life. Firmware upgrade capabilities also available. 

The TFV12 Prince Tank included in the X-Priv 225W Kit features a 8mL E-Liquid reservoir with its bulb glass implement and is equipped with a "click-and-fill" top refill system that is able to be locked. Airflow is adjustable via large bottom airflow slots.

SMOK X-Priv Baby Kit Review

SMOK is a true powerhouse in the vaping industry, releasing more products every year than most vape companies do in their lifetime. Every product from SMOK is a winner, from their ultra-popular T-Priv mod to the V8 Stick. If you have ever tried a SMOK product, then you already know that the SMOK TFV12 Cloud Beast King Tank and the TFV12 Prince Tank are some of the most advanced sub-ohm tanks on the market, offering users massive cloud production while still preserving vape juice flavor.

With such a successful campaign of products it's no surprise that the new X-Priv Baby Kit might just be the greatest compact vape device ever produced by SMOK. This cute little device may come in a small package, but don’t let that fool you. The SMOK X-Priv Baby has enough power and function to keep up with some of the most advanced devices on the market. Why don’t we take it for a test drive and see what this little puppy can really do?

The Looks

Alright first things first let's talk about the exterior, SMOK always has good fashion sense with their product design and the X-Priv Baby is no different. Coming in a wide variety of flashy colors, including hot pink and a supremely bling-ed out gold version, this device has a smooth glossy finish that feels fantastic in the hand. A unique silver cobra-print pattern gives the device a scaly appearance on the back panel. It also looks like there's some metallic fleck paint on there as well so props to SMOK for using a quality finish.

This is a compact mod and I love its small size. Measuring less than 5 inches in length this device sits very comfortably in hand and even more so in my pocket. The ergonomically designed fire-button on the side of the unit has a nice and springy response to it. The real selling point on the looks, for me at least, is the absolutely massive 2” display screen on the front of the X-Priv Baby. I’ve used many vape devices over the years and I’m still astounded by how clear and crisp the HD color OLED display screen is on this mod. You can even choose from 6 different color themes to customize the display text!

The TFV12 Baby Prince tank on top is a real looker as well. With ridged crown moulding along the top and bottom rings of the tank it lives up to its royal name. The color matching cobra pattern drip tip is a nice addition as well. It’s so stylish I wish I could use it on all of my tanks.  

What’s Inside?

A powerful 2300mAh internal battery inside of the X-Priv baby provides a long lasting charge for the device. From 100% to 0% power this device lasted for about ¾ of a day with my heavy vaping, a pretty respectable battery life considering the compact size of this vape. The strong lithium ion battery allows this device to fire all the way up to 80W, perfect for sub-ohm vaping.

The SMOK X-Priv Baby houses an advanced chipset that offers users a wide variety of built-in protection settings and control settings. The protection settings offer users protection from common vaping issues such as failed atomizer recognition, short circuiting, overheating, low voltage, puff monitoring, and over-vaping your coils with long puffs.

The advanced SMOK chipset also offers users a variety of control modes, including Variable Wattage, Temperature Control for TI, NI, and SS coils, and a Memory Mode which allows users to save their favorite custom puffs and operate using those exact same settings.

One of the more interesting settings available on the X-Priv Baby is the Puff Setting. Using the Puff Settings, one can set a limited number of puffs someone can take off of your mod before it locks itself. In addition to the puff counter, this setting really helps you to keep track of your nicotine usage throughout the day.

The Menu Operation is something I really like on this mod. You already know I’m gaga over how high-quality the display screen is, but the intuitive layout of the menu system on that HD display is really a fantastic feature of this device. You can browse through 3 menu systems that clearly display mode settings, puff settings, and custom screen settings. I was able to learn the layout and customize settings to my preferences within 10 minutes of having this mod in hand. It’s a similar layout to most of SMOK’s products so if you’ve used one before you already know how to work this one.

Here’s a quick run-down on the Menu Operation

• Click the fire button 3 times to access the Settings Menu
• Clicking the fire button while in settings mode allows you to scroll to different settings pages
• Up and down buttons on the face of the device fine tune settings
• Click the fire button and the down button simultaneously to enter different TC materials
• Click the fire button and the up button simultaneously to adjust preheat modes

The Tank

Paired with the SMOK X-Priv Baby is the TFV12 Big Baby Prince Tank, which features a massive 6.0mL vape juice capacity. This tank is a perfect addition to the kit in my humble opinion, providing the most versatility to pair with the customizable settings on the X-Priv Baby. This tank is compatible with the massive lineup of SMOK V8 Baby coils so you can use everything from dual core coil head all the way up to octuple core coil heads.

This tank is really what makes the SMOK X-PRIV Baby Kit so special, the insane amount of flavor and cloud production I got out of this tank has me in the mood to buy one specifically for more accurate vape juice testing.    

My Thoughts

Ok so let me preface the following with this statement, I really dislike compact built-in battery devices just as a rule of thumb. I don’t like charging my vape mod instead of just swapping in a fresh set of batteries and every compact device I’ve ever used just didn’t have the ability to keep up with my regular sized mods. Not to mention they often take hours to reach a full charge and who has time for that?

The SMOK X-Priv Baby has changed that opinion.

Not only does the X-Priv Baby keep up with my old box mods, it even out-performs some of them! The flavor production from the X-Priv Baby is so intense that I’m able to pick up on subtle flavors that I’ve never tasted before in E-Juice that I’ve been vaping for months. I tried three different flavors with this device and each time I was blown away by just how much taste the SMOK X-Priv Baby is able to produce.

Speaking of flavor production, one of the cool setting modes that I enjoyed playing with on this device were the preheat modes. A similar function to the YiHi’s flavor mode, this setting allows you to customize the ramp up of your vape and get more flavor or more cloud production depending on your preference. By adjusting the mode to hard I’m able to blow competition sized clouds with ease.

With the soft mode setting (my personal favorite) you get an intense flavor from your vape. One of the E-Liquids I tried that really blew me away was Junky’s Stash Buried Yesterday, which is a blueberry muffin flavor. I’ve been vaping this E-Juice for about a month and in my other device it tasted fantastic but I only ever really noticed a strong blueberry flavor. With the X-Priv Baby I was able to pick up on every subtle delicious note of cinnamon, sweet muffin, and last but not least the incredible blueberry taste.

Even running in Soft Mode this device is a serious cloud-chaser. I’m able to pull bigger clouds out of this device than any other kit I’ve used so far, and with the custom settings they’re nice soft clouds that doesn’t make my throat itch or feel uncomfortable.

The built-in battery on the SMOK X-Priv Baby is also pretty impressive. While I managed to drain the battery from 100% down to 0% within about 7 hours of usage I was also vaping on it much harder than I normally would. I think with regular usage you could probably get a full day of vaping out of it before needing to recharge.

Even after I drained the battery vaping hard all day I just plugged the device into my PC and left it for 30 minutes. When I came back from lunch the device had charged up to 60% power and was good to go again.
